“Did a complete remodel on our home. We had the solar panels that we owned taken off. Unified solar and roofing collaborated with Roofing Specialists of San Diego and did our roof and then REINSTALLED all of our panels. HUGE THANKS to USR and RSSD. you were all true professionals. On time, kind, business minded, professional, communicative, quick work and very informative! Thanks again!”
What’s NEM & Why Should I Care?
Net Energy Metering (NEM) is a program that credits a solar customer’s electric bill for surplus energy they send back to the grid.
With the new Net Energy Metering 3.0 the Public Utilities Commission has approved billing changes to Solar customers that take effect in April, 2023.
The biggest takeaway from this is that consumers, like you, get some of the best net metering benefits across the country under NEM 2.0.
In order to take advantage of this, our Experts first recommendation is to go solar now, if you haven’t already. It is very likely that customers on NEM 2.0 will not see any changes in the new program. Our second recommendation is to add a backup storage system to your solar project.
A backup battery system gives you a huge amount of independence from utility companies. Rather than sending excess power back to the grid (and receiving credits), with a battery, you can store excess electricity and use it at your discretion. “Unified just finished installing a new roof and solar system at my house and the process was super smooth and efficient. I worked with Mark for the initial quotes and he was very knowledgeable and I could tell he only quoted me for what I needed cost efficient wise and didn’t try to upsell me on anything… My roofing only took a day for the team to complete and the solar installation was the second day so super efficient and fast work!”

“Absolutely amazing customer service. Eric and his huge team did my roof so quick. Very honest and upfront. My roof was in really bad shape and now it looks amazing. My neighbors have all commented on how beautiful it is and they were so impressed I had 9 guys up there at one point. Eric walked me through the whole process and pricing. I was not hit with any surprise charges. If you are thinking about a getting your roof done stop thinking and call these guys you won’t regret it.”
